SUMMARY:
5.16 million sight tests were paid for by Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) in England and Local Health Boards in Wales in the period April to September 2003.
This was 0.4% more than the total for the period October 2002 to March 2003 (5.14 million) and 0.1% less than the period April to September 2002 (5.17 million).
PCTs in England and LHBs in Wales reimbursed Vouchers for 1.85 million pairs of glasses in the period April to September 2003.
This was 0.8% more than the total for the period October 2002 to March 2003 (1.84 million) and 2.0% less than the period April to September 2002 (1.89 million).
