Last year the pharmaceutical company said that the product would be unavailable from December 2007. However, as patients are being transferred away from the product more slowly than expected, supply will run out in June this year.
Healthcare professionals have been advised that people with diabetes will need to be transferred to a suitable alternative insulin by 15 June.
