Man on low-carb diet kicked out of buffet restaurant after asking for 12th slice of roast beef
Main Category: Public HealthArticle Date: 25 Apr 2004 - 0:00 PDT
A man who was on a low-carb diet was in a buffet restaurant eating roast beef like there was no tomorrow. When he came up to ask for his 12th slice of beef the manager started to get rather concerned. The manager wondered whether there would be enough roast beef to go round. Would there be enough for the other customers?
Sui Armaana had been two weeks into the Atkins diet. He had been coming to this restaurant at least twice a week for quite a while.
His wife, Isabelle Leota, Amaama said "It's so embarrassing actually. We went in to have dinner, we were under the impression Chuck-A-Rama was an all-you-can-eat establishment."
The manager of Chuck-A-Rama refuted this. He said that a buffet meal is a syle of eating, it is not an all-you-can-eat system.
When the manager asked the man (and his wife) to stop hogging the meat they got offended and asked for their money back. The manager did not give them their money back. In fact, when they would not leave he called the police.
Asked whether they had any plans to come back to that restaurant the couple said they did not.
