Survey Gauges Voters' Opinions On SCHIP Debate; Health Affairs Interview Examines Consumer-Driven Health Care

National Survey on SCHIP, Georgetown University Center for Children and Families: For the survey, researchers polled 1,002 voters about the debate surrounding SCHIP reauthorization and expansion. According to the poll, 91% of U.S. residents said they want Congress to help states cover more uninsured, and nearly two-thirds of voters said they support allowing states to continue deciding which children to cover under SCHIP. In addition, 84% of voters said they support allowing low-income, working parents of children enrolled in SCHIP to continue receiving benefits under the program (Georgetown University Center for Children and Families release, 7/23).
