Mikis Euripides, Asthma UK's Assistant Director of Policy & Public Affairs said: 'We are delighted that the Government has decided to listen to the views of people with asthma to find out more about the huge impact prescription charges can have on their lives. People with asthma have consistently told us this is one of the most important issues they want the Government to address with almost 1.8 million people with asthma currently paying for their medication in England and 43% finding it difficult to afford their treatment.
'We look forward to supporting the Government in helping to ensure that the views of people with asthma are included in the final decision on future prescription charges and welcome the day when people with asthma will never have to make life-threatening decisions about taking medication based on cost again.'
