The Scottish Football Association has announced that Diabetes UK Scotland will be one of two charity partners for the year ahead.
Formed in 1873, the Scottish Football Association is the second oldest football association in the world.
As well as organising Scotland's national football teams, they also organise the Scottish Cup tournament.
Directors and staff at the SFA chose Diabetes UK and CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) as they were felt to be close to the hearts of the staff of the association.
The SFA has pledged to work closely with Diabetes UK in the year ahead with fundraising and helping to raise awareness of diabetes throughout the year.
Scotland manager Alex McLeish (pictured above) said: "I am delighted that the Scottish Football Association and the Scotland team are going to be working with Diabetes UK Scotland and CHAS.
"Football has a very public profile that can be of great benefit to charities, and I hope that we will have a positive relationship with our charity partners over the coming season, helping to raise awareness for their work."
Director of Diabetes UK Scotland, Audrey Birt, welcomed the support of the SFA: "Diabetes UK Scotland is looking forward to an exciting year ahead with the SFA.
"The support of the Scotland team will help Diabetes UK Scotland meet its goals in raising awareness of diabetes and will make a huge difference to the 200,000 people who have diabetes in Scotland"
