Are you prepared for the demands of your aging parents, relatives and friends? Join experts from Rush University Medical Center for a free wellness program on planning for the future and an educational health fair for caregivers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 29.

This free event sponsored by Rush Generations and the Chicago Department on Aging will be held at the Searle Conference Center, located on the Rush campus, at 1725 W. Harrison St., Chicago.

When combined with the financial and emotional stress of caring for your children, working full time and planning for your own retirement, caring for aging parents and relatives can create a crisis situation for families.

NBC5's Sandy Goldberg, PhD will moderate a panel discussion from 10 a.m. to noon featuring experts in aging, health care and law. Learn how to balance the competing demands on your time, attention and finances now, which can save you headaches in the future.

Lunch will be provided at noon during a special talk for caregivers. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. health care providers of all kinds will be on hand to help you think about what you need to prepare for your aging parents and introduce you to your options.

Because space is limited, please call to reserve your seat. For more details and to register, call (888) 352-RUSH (7874) or visit http://www.rush.edu. Refreshments and free parking in the Rush garage are available for all registered attendees.

Sandy Goldberg is in her second decade of service as a contributor and consultant to NBC5. She has been a private clinical practitioner in the field of nutrition for more than 20 years, and holds a Master's degree and a PhD in clinical nutrition. In her featured segments she presents tangible points for viewers to reference in their daily lives.
