St. Jude Medical Named To BusinessWeek Magazine's ''Best Places To Launch A Career'' List, USA

St. Jude Medical, Inc. (NYSE:STJ) announced that BusinessWeek magazine has named it one of "The Best Places to Launch a Career" in 2007. St. Jude Medical was ranked number 44 out of 95 companies in the U.S. that made the list.
"St. Jude Medical is delighted to be recognized for our efforts in welcoming recent graduates into our company," said Daniel J. Starks, chairman, president and CEO of St. Jude Medical. "We are also very proud that the five-year retention rate for new graduates as part of our program at St. Jude Medical, at 97 percent, is the highest among all 95 companies in the ranking."
BusinessWeek used three sources of data to rank companies: a survey of career-services directors, a survey of employers and a student survey conducted by market-research firm Universum Communications.
"We focus on selecting the best and brightest to join our company and invest to retain them through focus on teamwork, training programs and by providing opportunities," said Paul Bae, vice president, Human Resources for St. Jude Medical.
BusinessWeek's "Best Places to Launch a Career" ranking is in the Sept. 24 issue, available now.
