UQ researchers are seeking volunteers diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and who have difficulty with their speech, to participate in a project.
The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences project will examine lip, tongue, and jaw function in individuals with speech difficulties as a result of Parkinson's disease.
The study will provide a better understanding of the impact of Parkinson's disease on speech and enable the development of effective treatment strategies.
Speech assessments will be conducted at the Motor Speech Research Unit, at The University of Queensland, St Lucia campus.
Assessments and transport can be arranged at a time convenient to volunteers. Transport costs will be covered by the Motor Speech Research Unit.
