Pharmacy Self Care has launched a new health promotion campaign covering the topic of Allergies - Hayfever (allergic rhinitis).

The campaign, proudly sponsored by Schering Plough, is a timely reminder that the hayfever season is upon us and with the condition affecting up to 40% of the population, Self Care pharmacies are gearing-up for this season's onslaught of the sniffles and sneezes, the running nose and watery eyes!

Pharmacy Self Care's Principal Adviser, John Bell, believes the campaign is a great 'knowledge toolkit' for Self Care pharmacists and their support staff. "It is important the pharmacy team utilises these high quality resources, particularly as this hayfever season is predicted to be a very busy one for our Self Care pharmacies," he said.

The campaign package includes:

- A Special 'refresher' issue of inPHARMation magazine;
- An in-pharmacy team education storyboard; and
- A CD Rom containing all the campaign resources.

The health campaign package will be distributed to all Pharmacy Self Care member pharmacies across Australia. All member pharmacies and their staff have access to additional assessments to CPD points and Counter Connection rewards.

Member pharmacies can also access all of the campaign materials by logging on to the PSC 'members only' website at http://www.psa.org.au/psc

Your local Self Care pharmacy can be located by simply going to the Self Care Pharmacy Finder at http://www.psa.org.au/pharmacies

For further information contact Sue Lovett at PSA National Office on (02) 6283 4724.

Produced by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and proudly sponsored by Schering Plough. Pharmacy Self Care is a program of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.
