Resonant Medical hosted the first Breast Image-Guided Radiotherapy Symposium at the 49th annual ASTRO meeting held in Los-Angeles. At this Symposium American and International Radiation Oncologists discussed and explored the need and future opportunities for image guidance in the planning and delivery of radiotherapy to breast cancer patients.

"Our research is demonstrating that ultrasound IGRT offers an excellent non-ionizing solution for localizing the lumpectomy cavity on a daily basis. The Symposium was a great opportunity to share our perspectives on ground-breaking approaches and discuss their positive impact with so many colleagues from across the nation", expressed Dr R Heimann, radiation oncologist at the Fletcher Allen Health Center in Burlington, Vermont, one of the panellists of the conference. The other panellists, Dr K Sultanem, Radiation Oncologist at the MUHC-McGill University in Montreal, and Dr P Truong, Radiation Oncologist at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Victoria, presented on CT-Ultrasound image fusion and other novel approaches for improving partial breast radiotherapy.

Resonant Medical announced at ASTRO the introduction of its Clarity™ Breast System - the first and only IGRT Solution designed for all breast radiation treatments. This System will potentially allow radiation oncology professionals to achieve localization of anatomical structures for treatment planning and guidance for all breast radiation therapies including e-boost and conformal partial breast irradiation (PBI).

"The Clarity™ Breast System is a new and exciting product that will potentially improve overall clinical confidence in breast radiation therapies. It is a great addition to our existing Clarity™ Prostate System. Combined, the ClarityTM Breast and Prostate systems address the two most prevalent cancers treated by radiation therapy today" said Steve Arless, President and CEO of Resonant Medical Inc. "We have partnered with several leading cancer centers and are moving towards rapid clinical adoption which will yield strong growth for the coming years."
