The Generic Pharmaceutical Association (GPhA) announced that the 10th Annual International Generic Pharmaceutical Alliance (IGPA) Conference will be held from November 28-December 1, 2007, in Miami Beach, Florida.

This international event, organized by the world's leading generic industry associations (Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association, European Generic medicines Association, GPhA and the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance), provides a unique forum for generic pharmaceutical executives from around the world to network and hear world-renowned experts discuss the latest insights into the international commercial, legal and regulatory developments concerning the generic pharmaceutical sector.

During two days of plenary sessions, discussions will focus on topics such as counterfeiting, biogenerics, global markets, global healthcare and access to affordable medicines, and free trade agreements.

GPhA represents the manufacturers and distributors of finished generic pharmaceuticals, manufacturers and distributors of bulk active pharmaceutical chemicals, and suppliers of other goods and services to the generic drug industry. Generics represent 63% of the total prescriptions dispensed in the United States, but only 20% of all dollars spent on prescription drugs.
