The Colorado Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care Reform on Thursday presented a 101-page draft of its final report detailing recommendations to overhaul the state's $30 billion health care system, the Denver Rocky Mountain News reports. Among the recommendations, the commission proposed giving state residents "meaningful choices" for health care plans and requiring all documented residents to register in a health plan that at least offers minimum coverage. Other recommendations include offering discounted premiums to residents who lead healthy lifestyles, and implementing a more convenient information system for residents and employers to seek details of plans, such as cost and coverage restrictions. The 27-member commission over the next few weeks will revise the report before presenting it to the General Assembly at the end of January 2008 (Montero, Denver Rocky Mountain News, 12/14).
