"Moving Backward: Status Report on the Impact of the Aug. 17 SCHIP Directive To Impose New Limits on States' Ability To Cover Uninsured Children," Georgetown University Health Policy Institute Center for Children and Families: The report provides the first comprehensive review of the Bush administration's Aug. 17 policy directive that effectively limits SCHIP coverage to children in families with incomes below 250% of the federal poverty level. The report discusses the policy's effects on uninsured children; states, including those that already provide coverage for children in families with incomes greater than 250% of the poverty level; and new initiatives to expand children's health coverage, as well as unanswered questions SCHIP administrators have about the directive (Georgetown University Health Policy Institute Center for Children and Families release, 12/13).
