RadioActive is an exciting project working with young people aged 11-25 in Hull and the East Riding. It uses radio as a way of raising awareness of health issues and information about services that are available for young people. It provides opportunities for young people to develop the radio skills needed to run a live radio and to produce radio pieces for broadcast. The MD Boys are a group of boys who meet regularly with their worker: Jackie Green at Hull's Children Centre. Recently they spent an afternoon with RadioActive developing radio skills and making some short pieces about difficulties with access and other issues that affect them as people living with muscle disease. These pieces have been broadcast as part of a raising awareness program on RadioActive.
