Nominations Open - Sixth Annual Modern Healthcare CEO IT Achievement Award, USA

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society is seeking nominations for the sixth annual Modern Healthcare CEO IT Achievement Awards competition, co-sponsored by HIMSS.
The 2008 award honors one or more healthcare industry chief executive officers who demonstrate leadership and commitment to using information technology to advance their healthcare organizations' strategic goals. CEOs from provider organizations, including hospitals, health systems, health insurers, physician groups and clinics, and post-acute-care providers are eligible for the award. CEOs from healthcare vendors and suppliers are not eligible
Entries can be submitted through Feb. 29. A panel of CEOs and chief information officers will judge the competition.
The announcement of the winner or winners will appear in Modern Healthcare magazine in the April 14, 2008 issue. HIMSS and Modern Healthcare will honor the 2008 recipients during a keynote presentation at the HIMSS Summit in Washington on June 9-10. The award recipients will be invited to speak about their successful IT implementations at one of the keynote sessions during the summit and the award recipients will be profiled in a special section in the June 9, 2008 issue.
A total of 12 CEOs have received the award since the recognition program's inception in 2003. Last year's competition drew a record 71 entries, with three CEOs being chosen as award winners.
