The National Academy of Sciences' Sackler Colloquium series will hold a meeting on gene regulatory networks. These networks represent the genomic program for the development of animal embryos, body parts, and cell types. The meeting will focus on four areas -- gene regulatory networks that control early embryonic development; gene networks later developmental processes; regulatory processes in complex multigenic systems; and understanding the generation of diversity and novelty during animal evolution.
