The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) has announced the appointment of two new Senior Communications Officers to strengthen its Public Affairs and Communications Directorate.
Rebecca Hopkinson joined the team in December after two years working as a Press Officer for utility firm EDF Energy. A qualified journalist, Rebecca has also worked in regional newspapers and with the RSPCA.
Niklas Bergstrand joined the Society in January from the International Organization for Migration where he worked as a Communications Officer. Previously Niklas has worked in various communication roles at the international offices of Lund and Stockholm University, and the Education Department of the Scottish Executive.
Both posts report in to Susan McCue the RPSGB's Communication's Manager.
Head of Corporate Communications and Membership, Jean-Pierre Moser, said:
"The RPSGB has entered a period of unprecedented change, de-merging from one body into a separate regulator and new professional body. At the same time pharmacists are taking on new clinical roles and it is important that the public and the media understand how these changes are impacting on healthcare delivery. "
