Applications Invited For BPC 2008 Conference Science Medal, UK

Applications are now being invited for the prestigious 2008 British Pharmaceutical Conference (BPC) Science Medal, the winner of which will be invited to present a lecture on his or her work at the 2009 conference.

Applications are now open internationally to scientists working in a pharmaceutical or allied discipline (in industry or academia) with a proven track record of independent research, and published work that shows outstanding promise.

Applicants with no more than ten years experience in the field as at 31 March 2007 at the postdoctoral level are invited to submit the following:

- Full CV detailing personal information, past and present appointments, research responsibilities and works published

- List of research students who have worked under nominee and their thesis titles and dates, plus any other instances of research collaborations

- Details of research grants as awarded and the candidate's role

- Invitations to speak at conferences in the United Kingdom and overseas, lecture or symposium titles, and names of awards

- A brief resume of two pages should also be submitted indicating discoveries made (please note copies of publications are not required)

The winner will receive the Commemorative Conference Science Medallion, a cheque for £750 and an invitation to present a thirty minute lecture at BPC 2009. Submissions should be made to Dr Sanober Shaikh, Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN, by 31 March 2008.

The successful applicant will be announced by the end of May 2008.

Notes:

BPC 2008 has the theme, Pharmacy in the 21st Century, adding years to life and life to years. The conference is organised by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and will be held at Manchester Central from Sunday 07 September to Tuesday 09 September.
