Medical Imaging Embedded Systems Expertise Expands, UK

Tactiq Ltd's expertise in the development of demanding medical imaging embedded systems is further recognised with its collaboration in a ground-breaking project in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

This UK government backed project, which has recently commenced, is lead by Michelson Diagnostics. The project focuses on developing an in-vivo OCT imaging system using an untried wavelength of 1 µm. The system will be used to obtain high-resolution sub-surface images of cancerous tissue, which will revolutionize cancer diagnosis and treatment.

This new project further builds on Tactiq's embedded systems development experience and capabilities in the field of medical imaging including the following projects:

- Tactiq lead the development of GE Healthcare's most successful Nuclear Medicine imaging system including the software, electronics, user interface and DICOM networking. They remain a key support team for these products in the market and are currently involved in the development of GE Healthcare's next generation PET/CT system.

- The development of two separate Ophthalmology products for clients used for applications such as surgical screening and the early detection of neurological disorders.

- Design and development responsibility of a telemedicine endoscopy imaging application including a novel user interface and patient record keeping. - Working on a number of systems including X-Ray & MRI requiring the development and integration of DICOM and PACS.
