Dr. Farah will present "Stimulation, Stress and Brain Development," part of the symposium Poverty and Brain Development: Correlations, Mechanisms and Societal Implications at the 2008 American Association for the Advancement of Science Annual Meeting in Boston.

Dr. Farah, a psychologist and cognitive neurologist, is a leading expert on brain development and ethical issues emerging from advances in the neurosciences. She has written extensively on the mechanisms of the mind and how perception, emotion and interaction result. In this presentation, she addresses the effect poverty has on childhood brain development.
