CapsuleTech, the leading independent medical device connectivity solution used by hundreds of healthcare institutions worldwide, announced that Trinity Health, the fourth-largest Catholic health care system in the country, will implement Capsule's DataCaptor™ Connectivity Suite at two of its hospitals.

Trinity Health will be using Capsule's DataCaptor™ Connectivity Suite to automate the capture of patient data from bedside devices, including GE Monitors from the Unity network. DataCaptor collects the data, converts it into HL7 format and integrates it into the hospitals' Cerner Millenium® Clinical Information System (CIS). As one of the largest Cerner clients, with 43 hospitals in its network, Trinity Health will be implementing DataCaptor at Battle Creek Health System (Battle Creek, MI) for Cerner's SurgiNet OR solution and at Holy Cross Hospital (Silver Spring, MD) for Cerner's INet ICU solution.

"We are very excited to have Trinity Health join the growing number of healthcare organizations and hospitals who have adopted our DataCaptor Connectivity Suite," said Arnaud Houette, CEO of CapsuleTech. "Trinity Health's commitment to automating patient data collection and improving patient care will make them a terrific partner for us, and we are looking forward to rolling out our DataCaptor solution to their network of hospitals across the country in the coming months."

The DataCaptor™ Connectivity Suite features one of the largest device interface libraries in the world with over 370 different types of medical devices, such as patient monitors, ventilators and infusion pumps, supported. It automatically converts the medical device data to HL7 or XML format and integrates it with any Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Clinical Information System (CIS), or Alarm and Event Management system improving clinical documentation, enhancing workflow and saving thousands of nursing hours.

Hundreds of healthcare institutions worldwide use the DataCaptor solution, and it is currently implemented at 25 Cerner hospital sites.
