The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain is offering all under graduate pharmacy students and pre registration trainees, a special day rate of £5 (+VAT) to attend the British Pharmaceutical Conference (BPC) 2008 on Tuesday 09 September.

The most important date in the annual pharmacy conference calendar, BPC 2008 will be held in Manchester from Sunday 07 September to Tuesday 09 September 2008. The agenda for the final day of BPC focuses on science and practice sessions for students with symposia featuring key speakers from across all sectors of the profession. BPC also includes an exhibition and the BPC PJ-Careers Forum where students will be able to meet with leading companies from all areas of the pharmaceutical industry and UK pharmacy.

Making the conference more accessible than ever, BPC 2008 will open its doors for the first time on a Sunday, with a special student rate of £25 (+VAT).

Heena Bhakta, President of the British Pharmaceutical Students' Association (BPSA), said:

"These special rates are really good news for pharmacy students. BPC offers a valuable experience and I would encourage people to take advantage of the opportunity. The decision to start the conference on a Sunday is a positive one that will increase access for students across Britain."

Chairman of the BPC 2008 Conference Committee, John Gentle, said:

"Students are the future of our profession and I am pleased that the Society is able to offer attractive delegate rates to this important audience. BPC 2008 will showcase all that is good in pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical science and provide valuable learning and networking opportunities for students. We want to reach out to the newest members of our profession and welcome them into the pharmacy family and BPC is an excellent opportunity to introduce students to the challenges and rewards that lie ahead".

The £5 student rates are available on a first come, first served basis so early booking is advised. Students can register now online at www.bpc2008.org .
