Provista Diagnostics LLC (PDx), a wholly owned subsidiary of Provista Life Sciences, a diagnostic development and commercialization company, announced the availability of the Provista Memory Test™ and the Provista Memory Test PLUS™. The two self-administered tests are designed to help a person and their healthcare provider evaluate the inability to recall common associations indicating that further medical assessment and intervention is required.

"The Provista Memory Test has been specifically designed to help people address their concerns associated with memory loss. The test can put individuals on the path to the appropriate medical evaluation and treatment that can improve their quality of life," said Dr. Louis Kirby, the Chief Medical Officer of Provista Life Sciences. "It is extremely important for those individuals who are experiencing memory loss to have access to a quick and simple means to evaluate whether or not they should have concerns."

The Provista Memory Test has been designed to test for cognitive and memory impairment and consists of 20 simple questions to assess memory and thinking ability. It is based on tests similar to those physicians use to routinely measure these abilities in their patients.

The Provista Memory Test PLUS is the only FDA-cleared over-the-counter smell test on the market today and is designed to evaluate an individual's ability to recognize and identify scientifically selected smells. Numerous researchers have documented that the loss of the sense of smell could be an early indicator of more serious medical conditions requiring diagnosis by a physician. The test consists of 12 odor strips to identify and is scored in less than five minutes. The Provista Memory Test PLUS was developed based on extensive independent research sponsored in part by the National Institutes on Health and Aging.

"The actual loss of smell can be indicative of the presence of an acute disease," said Robert Woods, President of Provista Diagnostics. "With this test, Provista Diagnostics is meeting the need for a simple, more accurate and affordable test to help patients and doctors identify early physical indications of what might be a more serious medical condition."

The Provista Memory Test and Provista Memory Test PLUS are currently available for purchase online at Provista Diagnostics' Web site (http://www.ProvistaDx.com). The tests can be purchased directly by the consumer and healthcare providers alike. Provista Diagnostics anticipates expanding the availability of these tests through national healthcare and pharmacy retail distributors in the near future.
