China is one of the leading tobacco markets in the world with over 350million smokers or tobacco addicts to be blunt. Nearly 1 million people in China loose their lives to tobacco related diseases each and every year. Quitting smoking programs are far from having an impact yet in China. This number continues to grow as many as 700 000 people start to smoke in China annually.

10 Years Nic Free

I stopped cold turkey May 2000 just to see if I could. I had a few cravings, some intense, some mild most went away after a few minutes. I never looked back. I couldn't believe I had been smoking since 17 yr old and it took me to age 45 yrs old to stop. I love being smoke free and I don't miss those life robbers for nothing. My husband stopped over a year ago and is also happy being smoke free. Clean breath, fresh taste, all those decaying and foul smells are gone. So happy.
Wow...

I'm a heavy smoker and even though I know it is horrible for me, I had no idea just how much it can shorten my life. I know that I need to quit and now I am more motivated.
Hmm... interresting

It doesn`t sound scientific "Every cigarette a man smokes reduces his life by 11 minutes" there is no way to exactly work that out. I do agree that smoking can greatly reduce life expectancy but those figures depend on personal health and genes, diet...
I smoke occasionally. (due to stress or other factors)
What is interesting is that I think people adjust to smoking or they don`t seem to see side effects. Couple of months ago I used to smoke daily 1-2 cigarettes didn`t mind side effects then quit for few months had a cigarette this morning and my lungs feel awful : (
Is there any one else that has similar circumstances?
40 years smoking now copd

New a close friend who smoked moderately heavy for 40 years, quit smoking 3 years now. Never new he had COPD, too stupid to realize it years ago. Most days it is a slow down hill battle to deal with the effects of this disease. Which will only get worse as the years add on. Light up now and you will most likely pay the price latter on in the quality of your life.

I started smoking when I was 12 years old, I stopped after a year with little to no problem. When I was 15 I started up again and now 20 years have passed. I'm going to quit for good this time, I'm sick and tired of having to think about my next smoke or how my friends kids see me smoking. I just want to be free from this stupid thing. I wish I never picked up that first cigarette, but the damage is done and now it is time to man up.

"The amount of life expectancy lost for each pack of cigarettes smoked is 28 minutes
Every cigarette a man smokes reduces his life by 11 minutes"
So every pack is roughly 2.5 cigarettes?
