About bell's palsy

posted by Sujata on 16 Nov 2010 at 7:29 am

The information about cholesterol is very useful. I would like to have information on bell's palsy in the similar manner. I would also be grateful on behalf of people who is suffering from or wanted to know, that " why there is pain after or during the medication and therapy, on the neck beneath the ear, of the affected side"? what could be done?

Thank you

As a vegetarian I suffer too.

posted by Esther Sabogal on 05 Nov 2011 at 6:33 pm

I like the article and encourages me to dig much more, I recomend to anyone which his cholesterol goes over 200 start working on a change because it will go up every year, it is easier to do something about it, even if it is ONLY 202 I think everybody should change diet habits and create an exercise routine. Im vegetarian and I just found out that my LDL is 202 and last year was 199. The doctors and every body said do not worry is ok,and honestly this time I will worry and change my diet and I hope everyone does the same.

Diet increases the cholesterol!

posted by Joan Decker on 14 Nov 2011 at 6:37 pm

High cholesterol runs in my family. Always wondered what my mothers was, she was 95 when she passed. I went on a special diet with my husband when he had to for his heart condition and mine went from the 200s to 310. Why it went up, I do not know. Just lost 30lbs., cut out sweets and deserts and eating more vegetables and fruit and cholesterol higher than before I did all this--the bad also. What to do now? Do not want to go on medication--I am 75 years old and not on any medication--blood pressure is good--sugar level good and get exercise. Any suggestions? Great article!

Response to Joan Decker

posted by Ozzie on 23 Nov 2011 at 12:22 pm

If you've changed your diet for the better, and you've been exercising/losing weight, and your cholesterol is still high then it sounds like your liver just produces excess amounts of cholesterol and that would indicate to me that it is a hereditary condition that needs to be medicated with something like Lipator or Crestor. I take Crestor and its helped me out just fine. Consult your doctor and see what he/she says. Stay Healthy and Happy Holidays.

Sometimes Cholesterol is peculiar

posted by Johan - struggle with cholesterol on 28 Nov 2011 at 10:15 pm

Very good information,

I also had high colesterol level since Feb 2004 (254). On Jul 2006 increase to 278. After medication with Lipitor going down to 176. Every year I have Cholesterol Check to monitor it's level. I change my lifestyle, especially with food, reduce eating foods with cooking oil and kind of foods that have high cholesterol. But I didn't take exercise so when Sept 2011 check again, it levels was 255. It make me have medication. After consume Atorsan 1 month, it levels going down to 220. I think, doing plenty exercise will decrease cholesterol levels.

Since Icame to know that Iam having a very high level of cholesterol after a check, I have gone through a lot of articles as a serious matter of concern. My total cholesterol is 318,LDL is 219 and Triglycerides is 218, I do regular exercise as swimming/cycling. but there was a little bit of abuse in saturated foods. which I have drastically reduced. Is it normal that I did not get any syntoms?

cholesterol levels

posted by Geraldine Korman on 17 Jan 2012 at 1:59 pm

Something happened to me also. In the past two years I have dropped 30 pounds, was doing 30 minutes of cardio a day at the gym plus walking to and from gym. I do not smoke and I have not consumed alcohol for 17 years. I try to control my diet, recording foods, cals, etc. I got my blood work results today and my LDL is highest in 7 years; but my HDL is good. What happened I do not know or understand.

cholesterol - myth!

posted by Adam88 on 19 Feb 2012 at 2:18 pm

Hi, currently im reading Uffe Ravnskov book "Cholesterol Myths" and article here (in polish): ziolaiprzyprawy.info/2012/01/30/blog/jak-obnizyc-cholesterol-szkodliwe-sterole-roslinne-stanole-benecol-flora-proactiv/

It seems that "cholesterol fear" is pumped by companies that wants our money, nothing else.
See facts, not the marketing ads in TV (like Benecol, Flora pro.active or Danacol). They are cheating us!

That Cholestrol levels need be controlled is a universal fact & goes beyond any reasonable doubt. In addition, Yoga in form of Praanayams greatly decrease risk of Heart Attacks. I am myselves a Heart Patient, with 2 stents in my heart. I do these exercises regularly, (about 75 times a day) & ever since there is no problem with me.

Why we need cholesterol in our body?

posted by cholesterol drug on 09 May 2012 at 11:14 pm

Cholesterol is found not only in your bloodstream, but also in every cell in your body, where it helps to produce cell membranes, hormones, vitamin D and bile acids that help you to digest fat. Cholesterol also helps in the formation of your memories and is vital for neurological function.
