Anal Itch

posted by kiki lee on 13 Nov 2010 at 5:39 am

I think I caught something while having anal sex from the Canadian guy who came to visit me and did not use a condom. I met him on Lavalife. He say he never use condoms with any of his encounters.

ANAL ITCHING AND ASPIRIN

posted by Albert Foster on 13 Feb 2011 at 11:47 pm

A major cause of anal itching is daily consumption of aspirin / asirin abuse. Please consider this when diagnosing. It takes approx 2 - 4 weeks for symptoms to subside after cessation of aspirin consumption.

Anal itching and laundry detergent

posted by Lil on 13 July 2011 at 10:47 pm

I started to have anal itching in 1994 and as it continued (because no doctors' prescriptions were effective), my vulvar area itched too. Both itching occurred daily but only when I lied in bed when I slept. Eventually after a few years, both the anus and vulvar area became very painful thoughout the whole day, and particularly more painful when I went to the toilet. I've tried parasites pills, yeast and bacteria tests, non-perfumed soap, cotton underwear, keeping the area dry, and none worked. In around 2002, I found a dermitologist doctor who gave me a cream that stopped the pain and itch, but I have to keep using that cream about once every 4 to 5 days. Finally in July 2010, I began to suspect that the laundry detergent might be the reason. So I started to use an all-natural-ingredients laundry detergent, and I reduced the amount I used for each load from 4/5 of a cup to 1/5 of a cup. And luckily and miraculously, within two weeks, my itchiness has gone, and I did not have to apply the cream any more, and that lasted for 9 months until March this year. Then the itch came back (probably because I have used too much detergent for one or two loads) for about 4 weeks. So I watched the amount of detergent that I put in each load carefully, and the itch has not re-occurred. Will keep you posted.

severe anal itch

posted by Evan on 05 Oct 2011 at 5:13 am

I have suffered itch for nearly 40 years and only cortizone cream works, but the advice is it must be used very sparingly to avoid skin damage. I always wash and dry. Spices, soaps and anxiety seem critical, but I wasn't aware chocolate, coffee and citrus are bad. Is there a non irritant form of washing detergent?

Aspirin Culprit

posted by Michael Smith on 12 Nov 2011 at 9:22 am

Plagued with anal itching for years, I FINALLY discovered without a doubt that aspirin was my culprit when I was forced to cease daily doses (81 mg) for surgery. After just a few days without aspirin the itching stopped completely!

With so many possible reasons for anal itching, I am posting this for any others struggling with the problem and looking for an answer.

Symptoms of an anal STD?

posted by Canadian Guy on 25 Nov 2011 at 9:06 pm

How do I know if I got an anal STD?

My rectum is really itchy and lotion or body wash or anything doesn't really stop the itching, and it always feels like I need to poop or something, even though I don't need too.

I had unprotected sex not too long ago with someone that I met on a social networking site. I don't know if they gave it to me or what?

Milk - Peanuts - Bananas. Most anal itching from food sensitivities

posted by Patrick on 02 Dec 2011 at 10:42 am

Most anal itching is from food sensitivities. I am surprised that this article barely touched on them. I am allertic to milk and peanuts, both mild allergies, but any food with peanut or lactose in them (bananas, tomatoes, and coatings on ibuprofen and benadryl) all inflame my anus.

Internal Anal Itching

posted by S.Harris on 13 Dec 2011 at 12:14 am

I have had on and off anal itching for the past 5yrs but never as bad is it is at present especially at night- keeping me awake. As a child i suffered from eczma so know all about what soaps to use and what detergents to avoid. I have had a close family member look for me and at first appearance there is no sign there of eczma. I also an getting slight discharg every know and then. Would like to know if this could be caused from an internal infection where it is irritating the outer causing the itchiness??? As we all know the last option is going to a doctor as this is quite embarrasing. Any advice PLEASE

a clove of garlic

posted by Heidi on 21 Dec 2011 at 8:39 pm

Bacteria can provocate anal itching and also vaginal itching. I read about the benefits of using a small clove of raw garlic as a supositorium at night, when we are ready to go to bed. I works wonders, and next mornig you release it. I have being doing it for years, many of my friends followed the advise and are pleased with the results. Sounds a little strange, perhaps funny, but it works.

Salveation

posted by T. Jones on 22 Dec 2011 at 7:53 am

My husband had anal itching for over twenty years which was intermittently stopped by corticosteroid creams. Only thing that has stopped his itching and constant waking during the night is a natural healing salve called salveation. If he didn't use this I don't know what he would do.

The itching starting yesterday.

The itching starting yesterday. I'm 17 and I pulled a all-nighter and forgot to take a shower the following day. I believe that is why the itching occurred. I'm awake at 12 AM and the itching is keeping me awake. I hope it goes away soon.

Simply soothing

posted by Dave Mcvey on 09 Jan 2012 at 11:01 am

I saw a post on another site for wipes called simply soothing. You order them online for about £5 for 20 wipes. Use the 4 times a day (they do sting for the first week). My symptoms where greatly alleviated and life is much more comfortable.

Itchy anus most often diet related

posted by Michael on 27 Feb 2012 at 5:02 pm

This article is correct in tying candidiasis with anal itching. Nine times out of ten this can be alleviated with a change in diet. Avoid yeast feeding foods that have a high glycemic index or contain sugar. Yeasty foods and alcoholic beverages contribute also.

anal itching

posted by murty on 07 Mar 2012 at 5:32 pm

After having a surgery for free passage of stools, (sprinkler cut) I experienced wetness around anal region. Any small amount of pressure is causing a release of gas and water. This results in wetness around the anal region. Due to continuous wetness small folds on the skin are forming which is causing lot of itching, making me to spend sleepless nights as well restless days. An 1/2 tablet of cetrizine is giving immediate relief in 5 minutes but leaving me drowsy all the day. please suggest remedy

Anal itch solution

posted by Paul on 03 Apr 2012 at 7:57 pm

Get a bidet!!! I am cured, it's amazing what a difference a bidet makes, and how much more hygenic and gentle they are than wipes or toilet paper! You dont need the expensive ones, you can get one that attaches to your toilet for only $40

I suffered severe anal itch at nighttime for 10 years. I have had a problem with anal fissures also, which made the itching worse but not with the bidet to prevent further irritation. I tried everything, getting the bidet fixed me overnight and I haven't had a problem since. Never ever going back!

Strep and itchy bottom

posted by scott on 27 Apr 2012 at 8:16 am

After witnessing this symptom going undiagnosed for weeks in our youngest boy that escalated into scarlet fever, I have come to realize irritation, rash and sometimes blood near the anus can also be strep. Sure enough, I had similar symptoms: itchy, irritation and some bleeding. I attributed it to hemorrhoids but creams didn't help. After two weeks, I started feeling the traditional strep symptoms--sore throat, achy glands. The moment I was on antibiotics, the itchy rash and discharge went away. Kids are known to get it but I'm proof that 45 year old adults can get it too.

Simple Solution

posted by David on 03 May 2012 at 6:37 am

So many people write about this subject but none of them have ever had it, or gotten rid of it, I have. The main problem for most sufferers is the constant irritation from rubbing with toilet paper. It's abrasive and removes too much of the natural oils the body needs. Once the itching starts it's self perpetuating. The solution is a Hand Bidet Sprayer. Now you are washing with water, you are cleaner and you are not causing the irritation so the problem goes away, I know.
