Me, too

I experienced EHS yesterday when I was in a computer lab. It lasted for several hours. It's not the first time either.

Can one lessen the effects?

posted by Beernard on 02 July 2010 at 5:57 pm

Never occured to me...but for these past several months I have zeroed the culprit for my friend's symptoms to be her laptop's wifi..her symptoms started as insignificant feelings of general unwell and strange vibrations/palpitations on the chest. Erratic breathing...Now everytime she tuns on her laptop's wifi the symptoms are back after a couple minutes exposure and immediately dissaappear if the wifi's switched off. It is like a switch and I have no doubt whatsoever it is the wifi! That is if she stays within the immediate area of the laptop...So how does one access the internet via wifi without adverse effect or at least how do you lessen the effects?

Electro-sensitive person

posted by Susan Terry on 10 Aug 2010 at 12:27 am

I too, have this sensitivity. I was living by some major power lines and I recently moved to get away from them. I'm still having reactions to my computer and large appliances in my home and especially in stores near the refrideration. Now when I go by those power lines, I get brain zaps, dizzy, and headaches. . Something needs to be done to make this known, there are grade schools near those same powerlines. Is there anything we can do to cure this besides avoidance? I would be willing to volunteer for any research studies. Thank you for this article.

Check out Subliminal Distraction first.

posted by L K Tucer on 18 Aug 2010 at 1:07 pm

Before you decide you have sensitivity to EMR examine your activities to determine if your symptoms are not actually caused by Subliminal Distraction exposure.

The symptoms listed by the posts to this thread could be SD exposure.

The problem was discovered and solved forty years ago but almost no one is aware it exists. Office workers using the first modern workstations began to have mental breaks. It was determined to be the vision startle reflex and the cubicle designed to deal with it by 1968.

Using a laptop where others can move in your peripheral vision will allow exposure. The repeating failed attempts to trigger the startle reflex will color thought and reason creating fear, paranoia, panic attacks, depression, thoughts of suicide, strange skin sensations, memory loss. and psychosomatic medical symptoms.

The Wi-Fi problem in Ontario is this phenomenon. Video on CBC News shows school children using computers in unprotected workspace, without Cubicle Level Protection.

Just an observation

posted by David Isakson on 20 Aug 2010 at 10:45 am

Not to belittle the people that claim to be sensitive to these signals, but perhaps the health community is rejecting the notion of emf-radiation sickness because the symptoms seem to fit dehydration and mal-nutrition. Hence they think it's the person's fault that they are in the condition they are in.

I'm constantly exposed to wifi and cell phone signals. My cell phone is in my pocket and I work perhaps 20 feet from a wireless router. My wife is a heart patien and has a pacer defibulator and we get no adverse effects from our home wifi network or our cell phones. And the only time that I feel any of these symptoms is when I haven't been drinking enough water or eating right.

I'm not saying that wifi sickness or whatever you want to call it isn't real. It's just that I have not observed any effects that I can conclusively link to emf radiation. And so far I have not seen anything other than articles claiming that it is real.

My visit in Boulder Dam, Nevada

posted by Isolt on 17 Jan 2011 at 8:34 pm

Some time ago I went to see the Hoover Dam in southern Nevada. Half way down descending into the depth of Grand Canyon, I started to feel anxious and nervous. The closer I came to the dam with its power generating machines the stronger my anxiety grew, until it became a full blown panic attack. I am a very sensitive person and easily affected by changes in my environment. I could not stay down there any longer time and was extremely happy to get out of that pit alive.

Bad habits gave me it

posted by LiE on 16 Feb 2011 at 7:18 pm

I have terrible habits like reading pdf books on my laptop and having it on my hip for several hours in a day. I also do this with movie watching, which end up being 2-3 hour movies with it position on my hips. I have the habit of putting it on one of my heel area too.

I have severe vibrations, which made me unable to sleep until 2-3 hours later. It took a week or more for it to go away with reducing my laptop on my body. I had the vibration for a good month or longer.

Now have the vibration sensation, anal bleeding, trouble sleeping, depression, body pains and heart beating fast. This is the third time having this sensation, it a good thing that my body is getting used to it but I guess it hurting my body silently.

Ny doctors say i can't do nothing and he can't do nothing about it. so i try to reduce my radiation intake as much as possible to get rid of it. it serious is a real problem and it sad their won't do anything.

not nutritional-related here

posted by Heather on 26 Feb 2011 at 4:02 pm

I have had this problem numerous times. Its terrible. And to address the person speaking of hydration and malnutrition....I drink coconut water daily in the morning for hydration, in addition I juice 3-4 glasses of fresh vegtables daily. I go through 20 pounds of apples, 20 pounds of carrots, immeasurable amounts of greens, etc etc, all in a week. I def get all my nutients.

compact fluorescent light bulbs

posted by Audrey on 16 Nov 2011 at 1:41 am

I became ill unexpectedly after happily putting the compact fluorescent light bulbs in my house very close to my head as that was where my lights were. No doctors knew what was wrong and eventually a scientist sent my symptoms around the world and I was diagnosed as electrosensitive. I have used a German machine called the Cyber Trone via a therapist and this is very effective at rebalancing the imbalance that EMR inflicts on our bodies. The treatment is a bit expensive but well worth doing to help you to tolerate the escalating rollout of radiation in our world but we also need to keep campaigning for authorities to recognise the risks and to organise a safer environment for us all.

Electro-sensitive aftects the sciatic nerve

posted by dorothy on 23 Jan 2012 at 1:52 pm

I too have have feelings of pulsation radiation flowing through my body while watching TV as it comes through the satellite box or from my cell phone or a heating pad. In addition to that I was diagnosed with sciatica from a chiropractor about 7 years ago, and it seems that since I've moved from one house to a town home, my sciatic nerve acts up so bad the doctor put me on anti-anxiety pills just to calm the nerve endings flowing through my lower body. I'm now wondering which came first, the radiation or the sciatica? By the way, I was working for a cell phone tower company at the time of my diagnosis (as an administrative asst. not a tech).
