marriage and down syndrome

posted by das ,v,r. on 15 Sept 2011 at 6:22 pm

a marriage proposal for my friend's son was rejected by my friends relatives including a doctor as the girl has a sister who is a down syndrome person. the girl has another sister who is normal and she herself is normal and intelligent.
she was rejected on the ground that her kids in future may also be born with down syndrome.
are these friends and relatives right in their action and advice? i feel that that is gross injustice to the girl.
thank you.

upset

Them people should be taken out and whipped ,i have four children, three boys and a girl,my youngest son who is twelve has Down Syndrome ,and i could not live without him.He went to play school and then on to main stream school,he can read anything put in front of him,and is a lovely writer, he will go to secondary school next year, and were so proud of him ,and we were Blessed the day he was given to us.I feel sorry for does people, does that mean if the girls sister had cancer that it would be passed on to there future children. My son is a lovely young boy and he will be a fine young man some day,he has more friends than his brothers and sister ever had,and we Love him very much .Children with Down Syndrome are the same as any other child ,a little slower to do things, you have to see the child first, and Down Syndrome second.

Faith

posted by Johan Burger on 02 Dec 2011 at 12:34 am

We have a 5 month old girl with TR21. To make a long story short: We love her to bits. If your own faith in Jesus's healing isn't enough, then go to a Christian with a Gift of Healing and your child will be healed. God bless you and save you. See you in heaven.

I need help

posted by Omoh on 12 Dec 2011 at 5:28 pm

Am 35years and I am 20weeks pregnant, and I was told today that I have 80 percent chances of down syndrome.
My question is should I keep the baby or terminate the pregnancy? Because I don't want my baby to be in pain. Am so sick right now. I believe in miracle and I so much have faith in God. Please, talk to me....

open now for the truth

posted by amel on 25 Jan 2012 at 12:29 am

My first reaction is then of course..denial. Thanx to Alloh...i'm blessed with warm family n husband. So instead of denying the truth...it's me as her mother has to stand up tall exploring the unique things that we're havin...share with all family...n act wisely when some people underestimate my princess.
Deep down inside...I know she'll be able to show people that she can do something BIG for others...(˘-˘)ง...aamiin
