BDA Masterclass, a dedicated new business education programme for dentists from the British Dental Association that is supported by the British Dental Trade Association, will be introduced to the profession at the 2008 British Dental Conference and Exhibition at the Manchester Central Convention Complex. A special stand will be set up in the upper foyer at the complex where visitors will be able to meet the team behind the course and learn more about this unique business education programme designed specifically for dental practitioners.

The programme, developed in conjunction with Henley Management College, was successfully piloted earlier this year with positive feedback from participants. The course covers business strategy, marketing, efficiency, finance and leadership as they apply to dentistry.

Peter Ward, Chief Executive of the BDA, said:

"We are delighted to launch Masterclass at the 2008 British Dental Conference and Exhibition. Business skills are more important than ever for dentists in an increasingly competitive environment. This course, which is supported by the BDTA, will help practitioners in their day-to-day lives as they seek to make their practices run more smoothly, efficiently and profitably."

Tony Reed, Executive Director of the BDTA, said:

"The BDTA is proud to be supporting the BDA and Henley Management College in developing this vital aspect of the modern dental practice. A soundly managed business provides the right foundation for delivering the best patient care and I strongly recommend this course to all practitioners, whether they are in NHS, private or mixed practice."

The first cycle of BDA Masterclass will begin on 15 and 16 September. The course takes place at Henley Management College and lasts six full days, organised in blocks of two days.
