The grocery store chain Kroger on Wednesday will become the latest retail chain to add a number of women's health-related medications to its discount prescription drug program, the Tennessean reports. Similar to programs launched by Wal-Mart Stores and Target, Kroger will sell a 30-day supply of several specialized women's-health related medications -- including the breast cancer drugs tamoxifen and alendronate, as well as the generic version of the osteoporosis medication Fosamax -- for $9 (Ward, Tennessean, 5/13). A 90-day supply of the drugs will sell for $24 (Eckberg, Cincinnati Enquirer, 5/13). Melissa Eads, a Kroger spokesperson, said the company's program aims to match the prices of its competitors and provide its customers a good value (Tennessean, 5/13).
