Scotland has just 200 people using insulin pumps. Although all health boards in Scotland now have strategies in place for prescribing insulin pumps, current access is extremely poor.
In Scotland, less than one per cent (199) of people with Type 1 diabetes are using pumps compared to two per cent in the UK (6,000) and 15 to 20 per cent in the United States and Germany.
