Alzheimer Scotland launched its brand new fundraising campaign, Care for a curry™, in Glasgow on Monday night with a fantastic evening of curry and comedy at the famous Stand comedy club, raising a great total of £1100. Stand-up from Raymond Mearns, Andy Sir, Scott Agnew and Elaine Malcolmson (compered by the incomparable Billy Kirkwood) provided plenty of laughs while a fantastic spread from the nearby Shish Mahal restaurant gave attendees plenty to get their laughing gear around.

Angi Inch, Glasgow events co-ordinator with Alzheimer Scotland, said "It's been an amazing night and a fantastic fundraiser for Alzheimer Scotland. I'd just like to thank The Stand and all the acts who took part, the Shish Mahal, everyone who donated raffle prizes and all the lovely people who came along. Their support will make a big difference to people with dementia and their carers in the Glasgow area."

Care for a curry?™ is a brand new way of raising money for (and awareness about) dementia in Scotland. It's about events. It's about socialising. It's about the great Scottish love affair with fiery foods from far-off lands. Most of all, though, it's about helping people with dementia and their carers by supporting Alzheimer Scotland.
