44th Annual Meeting Is Largest Event In Drug Information Association History

The Drug Information Association has announced that the 44th Annual Meeting, held from June 22-26 in Boston, Massachusetts, was the largest event in the association's more than 40-year history.

"This year we received the largest ever number of abstracts for the Annual Meeting," notes Annual Meeting Program Chair Jeffrey Sherman, MD, FACP. "The genuinely amazing educational content delivered at the Annual Meeting reinforces the importance of the DIA volunteers who helped prepare or instruct every session and tutorial."

This year's event included:

- 8,900 attendees from 56 countries representing Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe and Australia
- 850 exhibitors
- 1,100 speakers
- 368 sessions
- 20 student and professional poster presenters
- 50 representatives from academic institutions around the world

"It's interesting how each Annual Meeting can be viewed as a unique, standalone event, and yet they all seem to capture and reflect different essential aspects of our association," says Marie Dray, President, DIA Board of Directors. "Our recent annual meeting in Boston was by every measure a huge success - the largest, most well-attended event in our association's 40+ -year history."
