Canadian Astronaut Dr. Dave Williams, along with NASA astronauts and Canadian surgeon Dr. Anvari, will hold a media conference on Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope. The crew will announce their plans for the NEEMO 7 mission, a project to test medical and telesurgical applications during an underwater space analogue mission in October 2004.

The NEEMO 7 mission (NASA's Extreme Environment Mission Operations 7) is a joint project involving McMaster University's Centre for Minimal Access Surgery (CMAS) at St. Joseph's Healthcare, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and NASA. The mission aims to demonstrate and evaluate new medical diagnostic and therapeutic technologies to enhance the delivery of state-of-the-art medical care in remote and harsh environments.
