People often ask Diabetes UK how they can take part in research trials, so we are delighted to announce an initiative from the Diabetes Research Network (DRN) which will help people with diabetes to play a greater role in research.
The DRN is looking for people with diabetes who are keen to get involved in research trials. You might want to take part in a clinical trial yourself, or perhaps you are interested in becoming involved in making sure that trials and research reflect the needs and views of people with diabetes.
Get involved with research
The DRN is also looking for patient advocates - these are people who are affected by diabetes and who can share their experiences and perspectives on living with the condition with research advisory groups. The only expertise you need is knowing what it's like to live with diabetes. You can find out more about these options by visiting our website or by calling the DRN directly on 0207 594 1796.
If you want to see and hear some of the DRN's funded researchers talking about the processes involved in clinical research into diabetes, visit the Diabetes Research Networking website to find videos of participants and researchers involved in some of the DRN's studies.
