The 2008 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF) will convene September 21 - 24, 2008 in Chicago. The meeting is the world's largest gathering of otolaryngologists and a forum for renowned guests.
With more than 165 scientific research sessions, 200 scientific posters, and 400 instruction course hours for attendees to be presented at the McCormick Place Convention Center, the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO will provide a rich resource for journalists looking to cover the latest in clinical, surgical, and medical research fields.
During the meeting, experts from around the world will address current events and explore new research on, hearing loss (with new guidelines on earwax removal), ear infections, voice disorders, and sleep disorders. Additionally, there will be research findings regarding the efficacy of plastic surgery, as well as treatment for head and neck cancer, one of the most deadly manifestations of cancer. Among the many symposia and research papers to be presented at the meeting are:
- Effect of Botox on first impressions
- Depression rates in patients with ENT health issues
- The effect of scent and smell on dreams
- The use of honey as an antibacterial agent
- New guidelines on earwax removal
- U.S. Presidents and their ENT health
- Disaster medical ethics
- Bodily pain relating to chronic sinusitis
