Parents can now get affordable, quality health care cover helping to protect what is precious to them with Tesco Child Health Plan. And as an introductory offer, Tesco is offering customers 25% off in the first year, lowering premiums to just £7.49* a month for the first child covered.

This cover is perfect for parents who want to insure their children's health, enabling them speedy access to a professional for private consultations, tests and diagnosis.

The policy also covers private treatment if a child has to go into hospital for an operation or a surgical procedure and cannot be treated within six weeks on the NHS.

Jeremy Sutton, head of Tesco Health Insurance, says, "The new Tesco Child Health Plan will help give parents reassurance that they can find out what's wrong with their child quickly with prompt access to diagnostic tests. There is no need for parents to cover themselves on this policy, and no annual maximum on claims. We are making health insurance available to a much wider range of consumers."

The introductory offer gives a 25% discount* to customers in the first year with cover costing just £7.49 a month for the first child. The premium for each child covered after the first one is then £6.74.

Diagnostic work such as x-rays or scans carried out by the specialist will be covered by the plan.*It's important to note though, as with all PMI, the plan does not cover accident and emergency
