Scribe Healthcare Technologies, Inc., internationally recognized as one of the leading technology providers for medical dictation, transcription and document management, is now offering a version of its platform for free. The free version (Scribe Lite) is targeting a large underserved population of independent transcriptionists, small transcription companies, and medical practices.

Designed for ease of operation, Scribe Lite can be setup online by the customer. Scribe Lite is wizard driven and delivers value by providing preconfigured user accounts during the sign-up process. "We've eliminated advanced functionality from our Complete Platform to keep Scribe Lite simple," said John Weiss, Vice President. New users complete a nine step wizard that setups their branded site, up to five dictating users and up to three medical transcriptionists. Dictation is performed by a user supplied digital recorder and securely uploaded. Telephone dictation is available for an additional charge.

In keeping with a "simplicity" theme, dictating users dictate voice files and receive transcribed reports back in the secure online Inbox. From the Inbox users are able to print, download, store, and search reports. Reports are available online for physician access for the term of the relationship.

"Until now the independent transcriptionist was ignored by our industry. The cost to purchase and use a transcription platform could consume the small profits generated by these organizations. Scribe Lite changes everything," said John Weiss. "Many of these smaller transcription companies still use a courier to transport tapes and reports. With gas prices exceeding $4/gallon, Scribe Lite can make an immediate impact by automating and greatly speeding file transfer. With Scribe Lite, there is no reason to not to embrace technology to assist in the dictation/transcription process."

Customers choosing Scribe Lite can easily upgrade to Scribe's Complete platform if or when they are ready. Support and training are provided via an online knowledge base. Online video based training will be added shortly. For companies seeking a personal touch, training packages can be purchased for a small charge.
