Extensis Group LLC., New Jersey's largest Professional Employer Organization (PEO), has released an article on the growing trend of businesses using Consumer-Directed Health Plans to control their rising healthcare costs.

Nationally, healthcare costs have continued to rise at rates greater than inflation. In a recent survey, 83 percent of employers believed they would be offering a Consumer-Directed Health Plan (CDHP) within five years, while 34 percent believed CDHPs would eventually cover over half their workforce. This article explores the strengths and weaknesses of this new form of health insurance and offers tips on how to effectively implement CDHPs in a Small Business setting.

"CDHPs are a powerful tool for Small Business owners to manage their healthcare costs," said Don Abernathy, President of Extensis. "Creativity, flexibility and effective employee communications are key to successfully using this tool."

This article has been recently published in hrDispatch and is being re-released to the public, free of charge here.
