Clinical Study Results Of EarlySense's EverOn(R) Patient Supervision System

EarlySense, developer of continuous supervision systems for hospital and home use, announced today that the results of a clinical study of the EverOn system conducted at the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv will be presented by Drs. Patrick Sorkine, Nimrod Adi and Yossi Ben-Ari at the European Respiratory Society in Berlin on October 6, 2008.

EverOn® is a continuous, contact-free, patient supervision system that measures patient parameters and alerts upon patient change in clinical condition. There are no leads or cuffs to connect to the patient, who has complete freedom of movement and is not burdened by any irritating attachments. EverOn detects heart and respiration rates as well as bed entries and exits, and patient movement. The device sounds an alert when a pre-set parameter threshold is crossed. EverOn also displays and records real time data on a continuous trend-line. The trend line display is designed to assist clinicians in predicting the progression of a patient's health and consequently avert critical events.

We expect that this trend will continue and increase in its extent as patient supervision systems become the standard of care in hospitals over the next few years," said Mr. Halperin.

EarlySense also announced today that the interim results of a large clinical study performed with the EverOn system at Sheba Medical Center were presented on September 15, 2008 at the 6th Autoimmunity Congress in Porto, Portugal. The address was delivered by Dr. Eyal Zimlichman of the Department of Internal Medicine B, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, and Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, Israel. The title of the presentation was "Continuous Monitoring of Respiratory Diseases in Hospitalized Patients: Can we Predict Outcomes?"

Dr. Zimlichman said, "I believe the answer to this question is yes. From our experience, we would indeed suggest that continuous heart rate and respiration rate supervision should be used with patients with respiratory conditions to alert for acute deterioration and provide clinicians with ongoing data that is correlated with a patient's clinical status and consequently predicts health outcomes."
