Tuesday 14 October 2008, 11am- 3pm

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is leading the way in supporting nurses to further incorporate dignity into care for patients with the launch of two new resources as part of its successful Dignity Campaign.

Dr Peter Carter, Chief Executive & General Secretary of the RCN, will launch the Dignity Practice Support Pack and Dignity Influencing Resource on Tuesday 14 October at Broadgreen University NHS Trust, Liverpool.

Dignity is a major issue for both healthcare staff and patients, and remains a vital component in the delivery of quality healthcare. The RCN is campaigning to improve the standard of care being delivered by healthcare staff across the NHS.

The interactive resources will form part of the latest stage of the RCN's Dignity Campaign, providing nurses with practical tips and skills to maintaining and promoting dignity in the workplace, whilst lobbying Trusts and Government to take the issue of patient dignity seriously by providing staff with the right tools to deliver dignified patient care.

Notes

Media are welcome to attend the launch and should contact the RCN Media Office 0207 647 3633 or press.office@rcn.org.uk to register and for further information.
