A new Mental Health minister has been announced following the recent cabinet reshuffle. Phil Hope has been newly appointed to this role.

Paul Corry Director of Public Affairs Rethink said:

"The Care Services brief, which includes mental health, has been upgraded - to "minister of state", and it's not before time. With 1 in 4 of us being affected by a mental health condition as some stage in our lives, this is a very weighty portfolio. Rethink looks forward to working with Phil Hope to support the development of his plans on how he'll help improve crucial services that could be needed by up to a quarter of the population."
