GCPj - the world leading magazine dedicated to improving healthcare through the pursuit of excellence in clinical research and development - held its annual awards ceremony in London last night to highlight the achievements of the very best people in fields of clinical research.
The GCPj Awards' aim is to identify and celebrate achievements in 11 categories, including Most Successful Global Trial, Project Manager of the Year, Clinical Research Team of the Year, and GCPj's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
"Together with our sponsors, GCPj salutes the finalists and winners in each of the 11 categories," says Helena Jenson, Publisher of GCPj. "We are delighted to honour all of these dedicated professionals who are working so hard to bring innovative, safer and more effective medicines to market as quickly as possible."
This year's GCPj Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr Alberto Grignolo for his tireless dedication to improving standards and promoting effective relationships with regulators in clinical research.
"Dr Grignolo has more than 26 years of experience in regulatory and development strategy and he has helped numerous companies manage business risk by promoting sensible regulatory strategies and effective relationships with regulators in the increasingly complex regulatory environment," explains Helena. "His overarching approach has been to guide companies through development plans crafted with 'the end in mind'.
"I am truly honoured to receive this award and I thank the distinguished panel of judges and the GCPj readership for this unexpected recognition," says Dr Grignolo. "I consider this award a challenge to inspire others to pursue our shared mission to prevent and cure disease while continuing to improve worldwide standards and practices in clinical research."
