Commenting on today's statistics showing that complaints against the NHS have increased by 11% over the last year, Jenny Randerson, Welsh Lib Dem Health Spokesperson said:
"Our national health service is in a poor state and these statistics prove it. This Labour-Plaid government is leading our NHS in the wrong direction.
"With the total number of NHS beds being slashed, the Ambulance Service not achieving its targets and long waiting lists across Wales, it is no wonder that complaints against the NHS have increased over the last year. The Labour-Plaid government is intent on doling out headline-grabbing voter-enticing policies like free prescriptions for millionaires and free car parking for commuters instead of concentrating on what really matters - decent health care for the people of Wales.
"If complaints are this high at the end of the era of big NHS spending increases, it's hard to imagine what it'll be like in future years when money is tighter.
"Only when there is a decent standard of care for all patients across the NHS should this Labour-Plaid government even consider implementing their pet projects."
