ISPE, a global not-for-profit association of 25,000 pharmaceutical science and manufacturing professionals, will sponsor a special session on its Product Quality Lifecycle ImplementationTM (PQLI) initiative during IFPAC's 23rd International Forum and Exhibition, IFPAC-09.
Themed, "Operational Excellence through Process Understanding and Control…Facing Today's Challenges," IFPAC's meeting will be held January 25-28 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. During the event, IFPAC will offer a full 3.5-day meeting on Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and Quality by Design initiatives. Featuring more than 150 presenters in a curriculum with over 20 sessions, the IFPAC-09 program promotes multi-industry dialogue and allows for the discussion of PAT's real-life applications. A number of leading PAT/QbD case studies/applications within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry will be presented. Representatives from Novartis, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Merck will discuss several of these applications.
Launched in June of 2007, ISPE's PQLI initiative is an effort to help the pharmaceutical industry find practical, global approaches to implementing ICH guidances Q8, Q9, and Q10. ISPE's session on PQLI will take place on Monday afternoon, 26 January and will include discussions led by industry leaders from Abbott Labs, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, with case studies and panel discussions to follow.
