Today at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, BRIT Systems introduced a powerful new DICOM Viewer that is downloaded and supported over the Internet. The viewer's user-friendly design coupled with a go-live module that includes training and support will enable users to quickly include BRIT PACS View as an integral component of their DICOM imaging environment.

Connected to any DICOM capable server, BRIT PACS View obtains worklists and retrieves studies, creates, stores and retrieves presentation states and key objects, and communicates study status with the server. It also supports reading and exporting PDF compliant CD and, as an option, DICOM printing.

"We continue to see large institutions and radiology practices dealing with multi-PACS environments, and they are seeking ways to use one DICOM viewer for diagnosis and image review," says Shelly Fisher, President, BRIT Systems. "The BRIT PACS View works with any DICOM compliant PACS and is the perfect one viewer solution for all studies in a multi-PACS environment."

BRIT PACS View supports workflow features that optimize radiology productivity, including:

- Bulk Download Manager to download multiple studies simultaneously, tracking the progress and enabling the user to rearrange order of the download;

- Workspace Support, which lets users open up multiple patient studies in their own workspace and switch context with a single mouse click;

- Thumbnail representation of comparison studies including easy drag and drop interface for selecting the right comparison study; and, User-defined hot keys.

Multiple monitor support of same or different resolution and orientation, and advanced image manipulation tools are also provided. All annotation tools are saved back to the server via DICOM presentation states.
