Marketing, legal, regulatory, public relations/affairs, advertising, compliance and management, and communications professionals are invited to participate in the Drug Information Association's (DIA's) 21st Annual DIA Conference on Marketing Pharmaceuticals in a Time of Change (February 23-25, 2009; New York, NY).
"This conference will provide a basic understanding of how the regulatory and legal environment has evolved and affects the marketing and promotion of pharmaceuticals," explains Minnie Baylor--Henry, JJD, Program Committee Member and Treasurer of the DIA Board of Directors. "It also provides practical, day-to-day guidance on what can be learned from the latest FDA enforcement actions, and how companies can do their jobs better."
This year's program will focus on enforcement by the three centers within FDA that regulate drugs, biological products and veterinary drugs, direct-to-consumer advertising, state regulations, and the oversight of off-label issues by the Office of Inspector General and Department of Justice. The conference will also explore the latest innovations in the use of the internet for product communication. Highlights will include:
- FDA Update: Recent Enforcement Actions
- DTC Update from DDMAC
- Enforcement Updates: New Trends in State and Federal Enforcement
