Kaiser Permanente's Bellflower Medical Center announced today that mom and the octuplets continue to do well. Six of the babies are now breathing unassisted, that is breathing room air, one more than yesterday. Two continue to receive assisted oxygen through a tube in their nose.
Of the eight babies, five currently are being tube-fed donated breast milk. All babies continue to receive an intravenous nutritional combination. We expect the three others to begin tube-feeding donated breast milk soon.
