Sweco (STO:SWECA)(STO:SWECB) has been chosen as Doctors Without Borders' first cooperation partner. Within the framework of the partnership, Sweco's engineers will assist the organisation in its international humanitarian efforts.

"The partnership will give our employees a chance to use their engineering skills in various humanitarian projects conducted by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). As an international consulting company with projects in more than 80 countries, we see the experience gained by Sweco's employees as a valuable asset for our future business," says Eva Nygren, President of Sweco Sweden.

In addition to assisting MSF with personnel, Sweco will make a sizeable annual donation. Every year, some 100 Swedes participate in MSF's overseas programs as field staff or volunteers. MSF recruits not only doctors and healthcare personnel - around one third of those working in the field are administrators, engineers and other clerical staff.

"This is the first time MSF Sweden has proactively contacted a company that we are eager to enter into a deeper and more long-term partnership with. We are very pleased that Sweco sees the value of field experience for its employees," says Therese Engström, Fundraising Coordinator at MSF Sweden. MSF's activities in war zones give field workers experience of far-reaching staff management responsibility in a challenging and multicultural context. One of Sweco's employees has already been given a leave of absence to work with MSF and has been stationed in Sudan since November 2008. Sweco employees must undergo the same recruitment process as all other MSF applicants.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation.

Sweco is a provider of international consulting engineering services with combined expertise in engineering, environmental technology and architecture. The Group has annual sales of approximately SEK 4.6 billion and 5,500 employees in ten countries. The company has projects currently underway in some 80 countries worldwide. Sweco is listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm AB.
